Budgeting365 stores all data locally on your device, encrypted with AES-256. We do not have access to your data and cannot delete it on your behalf — because we never receive it. You are always in full control.

Option 1: Delete Specific Records

You can delete individual transactions, accounts, budgets, goals, or any other records directly within the app:

  1. Open Budgeting365 and unlock your vault
  2. Navigate to the item you want to delete (transaction, account, budget, goal, etc.)
  3. Tap the item to open its detail view
  4. Tap Delete and confirm when prompted

Deleted records are removed immediately and permanently from local storage.

Option 2: Delete All Data (Destroy Vault)

To permanently erase all your financial data at once:

  1. Open Budgeting365 and unlock your vault
  2. Go to Hallway (middle tab) → Settings
  3. Tap the Data tab
  4. Scroll down and tap Destroy Vault
  5. Enter your master password to confirm

Warning: This action is irreversible. All accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, recurring rules, investments, and settings will be permanently erased. We cannot recover this data.

Option 3: Uninstall the App

Uninstalling Budgeting365 from your device will permanently delete all app data, including your encrypted vault.

  1. Long-press the Budgeting365 icon on your home screen
  2. Tap Uninstall (or drag to “Uninstall”)
  3. Confirm the uninstallation

The Android operating system will erase all files belonging to the app, including the encrypted vault, settings, and cached data.

Delete Cloud Backup (If Enabled)

If you enabled the optional Google Drive backup feature, an encrypted copy of your vault may exist in your Google Drive. To delete it:

From within the app:

  1. Open Budgeting365 → HallwaySettingsData
  2. Under Cloud Backup, tap Delete Cloud Backup
  3. Confirm the deletion

From Google Drive directly:

  1. Go to Google Account → Security → Third-party apps
  2. Find Budgeting365 and tap it
  3. Tap Remove Access — this revokes the app’s access and deletes its app-data folder from your Google Drive

What About Data on Our Servers?

We have no servers and store no user data. There is nothing to delete on our end. Your financial data exists only on your device (and optionally in your personal Google Drive if you enabled cloud backup). Once you delete it locally and/or from Google Drive, it is gone permanently.
